In addition, your speech was pitched at just the right level for the student: neither too fast, nor too slow; neither too complex, nor overly simplified. You asked plenty of questions (and follow-up questions), always pushing her to explain her thinking and/or answers including why she thought each answer was the correct one. When she did not answer correctly, you guided her to finding the right answer, rather than just telling her, which was great to see. You reformulated some of her clear but not quite right contributions, and you always checked that she actually understood, even when she had already given the correct answer.
